Insane San Fran jurors in Kate Steinle case blame the GUN for the murder rather than the illegal alien who shot her

The case against Jose Ines Garcia Zarate of Mexico, the illegal immigrant who killed 32-year-old San Francisco resident Kate Steinle in 2015, seemed about as airtight as a legal case can be.

Police had his weapon. They had witnesses. They had a body. All they needed now was to present their evidence in court, then sit back and give jurors the short time they’d need to reach the only conclusion that seemed reasonable: Garcia Zarate was guilty of murdering Steinle.

But it didn’t turn out that way.

Jurors deliberated for days before returning a verdict that acquitted Garcia Zarate, a six-time illegal immigrant who never should have been out on the streets in America in the first place, of the most serious crimes.

Now, he didn’t get off scot-free. Nope. Jurors did see to it that some justice was meted out.

In essence, they voted to convict Garcia Zapate for a gun crime because, as most of us know, it’s difficult to find an urban-dwelling Californian who thinks fondly of the Second Amendment or your right to have and use a gun for self-defense.

That’s right. A gun crime. But not murder. As the Washington Post reported:

After deliberations that began on Nov. 21, Garcia Zarate, 45, a Mexican citizen, was found not guilty of murder, as well of the lesser charges of involuntary manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon. He was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm, which carries a sentence of up to three years.

You can’t, as they say, make this stuff up. So to a liberal pinhead in San Francisco, it’s far better to blame the gun in this case — which, by the way, Garcia Zarate stole from the vehicle of a federal Interior Department agent — than the illegal immigrant killer because….what? He’s a minority? Because the jurors didn’t want to be branded “racists?” What else can possibly be the answer, because if there’s a better one, I’d sure like to hear it.

So would tens of millions of Americans, most of them supporters of President Donald J. Trump’s get-tough approach to the enforcement of all immigration laws.

Speaking of the president, he had some choice words regarding the verdict following its announcement.

“A disgraceful verdict in the Kate Steinle case! No wonder the people of our Country are so angry with Illegal Immigration,” he tweeted Thursday night after the verdict was announced.

He added that the murder (and resultant miscarriage of justice with the acquittal) was further justification for his proposed border wall, and he is right.

“The Kate Steinle killer came back and back over the weakly protected Obama border, always committing crimes and being violent, and yet this info was not used in court. His exoneration is a complete travesty of justice. BUILD THE WALL!” the president said.

He also laid part of the blame on pro-illegal immigration Democratic leaders in the House and Senate, both of whom are pushing for outright amnesty for millions in the country illegally.

“The jury was not told the killer of Kate was a 7 time felon. The Schumer/Pelosi Democrats are so weak on Crime that they will pay a big price in the 2018 and 2020 Elections,” Trump tweeted.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who has been carrying out Trump’s campaign directives to crack down on illegal immigration and enforce federal immigration laws to the fullest, also expressed outrage and, correctly, blamed San Fran officials for their idiotic (and illegal) “sanctuary city” law. (Related: Sessions: Criminal aliens drawn to ‘sanctuary cities.’)

“When jurisdictions choose to return criminal aliens to the streets rather than turning them over to federal immigration authorities, they put the public’s safety at risk,” Sessions said in a statement. “San Francisco’s decision to protect criminal aliens led to the preventable and heartbreaking death of Kate Steinle.”

An illegal alien murderer didn’t get convicted of his crime. His gun did, because to the insane Left, that’s the real crime problem.
